My Story

My connection to forests runs deep. I grew up in the countryside of Lithuania, surrounded by them, and their presence shaped my sense of belonging and responsibility. Later, while living with Indigenous communities in the Amazon, I witnessed firsthand how much these communities depend on the forest—and how much we stand to lose when that connection is severed.

That experience continues to shape the work I do today. I believe the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is a crucial step in protecting the forests that sustain us. However, I also understand the real challenges businesses face when trying to implement these policies—especially small and medium-sized companies that may lack the in-house capacity or expertise to navigate them.

Tara Consulting was created to bridge that gap—offering support with care, depth, and clarity. The name “Tara” is inspired by both my own name and the Sanskrit word for star—a symbol of guidance, wisdom, and earth-connected femininity. In Hinduism, Tara is also revered as a goddess of compassion, protection, and wisdom, guiding those in need of help and support. This aligns with my mission: to help businesses navigate complex regulations with integrity, compassion, and a focus on the bigger picture.
